Prayer Changes Things, 2017

This painting is inspired by II Chronicles 7:14 (KJV), which states, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”.  The title, Prayer Changes Things became the summary of this verse.  In this verse, God is giving us the answer to the devastation in the land.  In 2017, there were many tragedies, but mass shootings were in record numbers.  The youth were especially vulnerable, which is why children are the focus of this painting.  This painting invites viewers to come together regardless of the difference in nationality and background, for the purpose of seeking God’s mercy.  In the Christian faith, prayer is the first step towards change. This was the first painting in the Inspired Truth series.
